Any consumer doing some online shopping over the past few years would have noticed a developing trend \u2014 more and more websites now have a \u201cchat\u201d feature that allows users to contact someone if they have any questions.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Customers seem to love this feature. It\u2019s the modern equivalent of making a phone call \u2014 it\u2019s immediate and easy to do, but it\u2019s also less personal than having to get on the phone, which means that there\u2019s less of an investment and the customer is more likely to do it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Better yet, these chat features can be automated on the front end of your site. For example, you can have the \u201cDo you need help?\u201d chat window pop up anytime someone lingers on a page above a certain threshold of time, or based on any other parameters you decide are appropriate.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
