I just wanted to share my appreciation for the CanSpace support team. They migrated a BROKEN Wordpress installation from my previous host (it was hacked), fixed it up, removed the hack, and got it up and running for me all within a day. They updated all my plugins to the latest versions and even installed a Wordpress firewall for me. Very happy with CanSpace
I have all my .ca domains with CanSpace for many years now and decided to finally move my hosting over to them after consistently receiving great support. With a fully managed VPS, we handle all the technical aspects of running your server - including software updates, security hardening, firewall configuration, monitoring, backups, and maintenance. You get root access to customize as needed, but you never have to worry about keeping the server healthy. That's our job.
An unmanaged VPS from a cheaper provider can lead to security risks, degraded performance, and ultimately downtime. With CanSpace, server administration is handled by our team 24/7.
Note: Our fully managed service is included with cPanel/WHM VPS plans. Bare Linux or Windows VPS plans are self-managed.
A VPS gives you your own dedicated set of resources (CPU, RAM, storage) on a physical server. Unlike shared hosting where resources are shared between many users, your VPS resources are exclusively yours - giving you significantly better performance, stability, and control. You get full root access and can install any software you need.
cPanel is not required. You can order a bare Linux VPS with just SSH access - no control panel at all. cPanel/WHM is available as an optional add-on if you want a graphical control panel to manage hosting accounts, email, databases, etc.
Note that our fully managed services (server administration, security hardening, updates, monitoring) are only included with VPS plans that have cPanel installed. Without cPanel, the VPS is self-managed - we provide the server infrastructure, DDoS protection, and network uptime, but you are responsible for all software installation, configuration, and maintenance.
Yes - any VPS plan can be provisioned with Windows Server. Windows VPS plans are self-managed: we provide the server with a fresh Windows install and RDP access, and you handle all software installation and management. We still provide the infrastructure, DDoS protection, and network uptime. Contact us for Windows license pricing.
cPanel is an optional add-on available at various tiers depending on how many accounts you need: Solo (1 account), Admin (up to 5), Pro (up to 30), Plus (up to 50), and Premier (up to 100). Pricing for each tier is shown during the checkout process under "Additional Upgrades." Our fully managed service is included at no extra cost with all cPanel VPS plans.
Yes. Although we handle all server administration for you, you still have full root access to make any changes or customizations you need.
Server provisioning can take up to 24 hours, but generally takes about 2-4 hours. All servers are manually provisioned, all software is updated to the latest versions, security patches applied, and our customized firewalls are installed. Servers then go through a 2-hour performance test.
Unlike other unmanaged providers, we meticulously go over each server to make sure we are handing you a server that is secure and performing at optimal efficiency.
All managed VPS plans come with cPanel and WHM pre-installed on AlmaLinux, along with Apache, MySQL, and PHP (multiple versions available). Your server comes fully updated and security hardened, with CSF firewall, LFD, and a Web Application Firewall (WAF) pre-configured. If you order a bare Linux VPS without cPanel, you get a clean AlmaLinux install with SSH access only.
Yes - all VPS plans are backed up nightly. Data can be restored at any time on request via a support ticket.
