Tell us a little bit about yourself and where you are located.
My name is Alison Brewster, one of the owners and operators of Brewster’s Golf and Brewster Mountain Lodge alongside my husband Bryan Niehaus. Brewster’s Golf is located on my family’s original homestead in Seebe, Alberta. The course is situated amongst the beautiful Canadian Rocky Mountains, located between the city of Calgary and the quaint towns of Canmore & Banff Alberta.
Tell us about Brewsters Golf and a bit of its history on how it came to be.
Brewster’s Golf (https://brewstersgolf.com) is the realization and creation of my father, Bud Brewster, 4th generation cowboy and entrepreneur. Brewsters Golf is an 18-hole golf course based at the foot of Yamnuska and on the North Bank of the Bow River. The Par 72 course challenges you to be accurate off the tee and measured with your approach. You will find exceptional mountain vistas and an abundance of wildflowers throughout the rugged, tree-lined terrain. Bud’s spirit and vision are found throughout the course.
Why and how did you get into this line of business? What’s the best thing about it?
For over 125 years, my family have been showing travellers the most spectacular locations and experiences in the Alberta Rocky Mountains, sharing extraordinary landscapes and unique adventures. I am honored to call this place home and to share what it means to enjoy the landscape while treating it with respect. We are pleased to provide guests and locals with a laid-back & friendly atmosphere, to enjoy a round of golf with friends and family.
What does it take to be successful at what you do?
To be successful in a business in and around the bow valley you must have a strong work ethic and be able to adapt to many adverse conditions such as weather, tourism trends, high staff turnover (due to a transient nature of the area), and continuously increasing costs of running a business in a quickly developing market.
How does CanSpace solve the objectives you have for your website?
Being located in a remote area, CanSpace provides us with the ability to reach a large network of potential customers. CanSpace gives us more exposure for us to continue growing and increase business within our short operating season.
