Tell us a little bit about yourself and where you are located.
My name is Kevin Kamau and live in Milton, Ontario Canada. I’m a proud dad to two young boys and family means the world to me. I love spending time in the outdoors and travelling to new places with my family. I enjoy many other things, but most notably reading, listening, writing and art.
Professionally, I’m an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Change Leader who is passionate about improving workplace culture across organizations. As Founder & CEO at Ediseed, my role is realizing Ediseed’s vision of connecting every workplace and community to greater possibilities.
What is Ediseed?
Ediseed (https://ediseed.com) is a Management Consulting Practice that specializes in Strategic Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Solutions. We offer a broad range of solutions that help an organization meet its strategic EDI goals which in our approach, are all essentially grounded in measurement.
Our mission is to provide every workplace with the accurate solutions they deserve to evolve inclusively.
We’re not just about assessments. Grounded by one of our guiding principles, we are a human-centred data-led organization where we recognize that every single data set we collect and analyze represents a real human experience and are steadfast in our commitment to never detaching ourselves from this human element.
Why and how did you get into this line of business? What’s the best thing about it?
I worked for well over 14 years in the Corporate space for one of the largest Canadian Corporations leading various teams through change. While I had great opportunities and experiences, there were rarely people who looked like me or who had similar opportunities while also facing barriers of my own along the way. As a Black Canadian, I felt that I had great experience navigating the realities of a complex and large organization that were enough for me to begin my own journey and leverage my experience in creating better opportunities and removing barriers for others that may be facing similar experiences at organizations everywhere.
The best thing about what we do is providing the possibilities that allow everyone at an organization to thrive!
What does it take to be great at what you do?
Our entire team includes Professionals that have multiple years of hands-on and lived experiences leading through change. We are not your typical consulting firm. We craft solutions that we have successfully tested through our years of experience leading through change. It takes both hands-on experience and critical listening skills with a dose of empathy to be good at what we do.
Last but not least, innovation. We anticipate and craft solutions that allow our clients to succeed. Every challenge we come across is treated as the greatest possibility and opportunity.
